Artist’s statement: In ‘Restoration’, I got a shot of graffiti in downtown Plymouth,MA. The inspiration behind this piece came from the negativity caused by vulgar, nonsensical graffiti I had been seeing all around town that day, and the hope and positivity that came from this image that I found. The white lettering against the dark, harsh, high contrast surrounding itself gives a sense of hope amongst the murky water and cracked walls. The ‘wonder boy lives’ gave a more calm approach to the scenery rather than that of the crude, random, graffiti seen earlier.
