Artist’s statement: Everyone has that moment where a single song or smell can draw them into a memory. This pastel drawing is my memory of a smell made real. This image, titled Lavender Scent, was inspired by a moment of contentment brought on by a magazine and the scent of perfume in my art class. While it is one of my earlier works, and a little rough around the edges, this piece never fails to give that feeling of nostalgia. I treasure this art and hope it awakes in you a memory of contentment brought on by a smell or a sound.
